OUR STORY

Bluewater Marine Systems started with a single boat: a 1967 Alberg 37 sailboat that once ran on a Volvo diesel. In 2021, we pulled that diesel and began a full electric propulsion conversion, sizing the motor and battery bank, designing a custom motor mount and closed-loop cooling system, and rewiring the boat from the ground up.

It didn't go smoothly at first. We worked through shipping damage, warranty disputes, and mismatched parts before finding the right components and the right support to get the system running reliably. A special thanks goes to the team at Electric Yacht, whose patience and expertise troubleshooting our motor, controller, and wiring made all the difference. Over the years since, we've kept refining it, upgrading displays, troubleshooting wiring, and resizing the charging system, learning firsthand what actually works on the water and what just sounds good on paper.

That hands-on experience, earned the hard way over five years of wrenching on our own boat, is what Bluewater Marine Systems is built on. We started this company to help other boat owners skip the trial and error: to size a system correctly the first time, choose the right components, and plan a conversion that works, because we've lived through the alternative.
